What is POST FALL?

POST FALL is a science-fiction adventure set about a hundred years in our future.  It is a series of six spec screenplays I have written for the purpose of selling their film rights.

Tagline = Blade Runner meets the R-rated version of Narnia.

Logline = A hundred years after Earth has been struck by both natural and manmade disasters, and the surviving population has divided between the genetically Altered humans and animals on Earth, and the Unaltered humans who colonized the Moon, a futuristic bounty hunter determines to save a little Earth girl, not knowing the consequences could destroy his side… or hers.

Synopsis = Now that I’m launching my POST FALL YouTube channel (October 2025), beginning with Episode #1, I will be posting 10-pages per episode in the link below so that people can read the full story of POST FALL!

Why is your story titled POST FALL?

The story is post-apocalyptic, so it’s an obvious prefix for the fall of civilization, but it also plays off the name of the city of Post Falls, Idaho, in which the story partially takes place.

pachuco-character-concept

(Pachuco – An Unaltered man from the Moon… at least genetically unaltered.  Pachuco has taken advantage of technological advances in cybernetic modification, becoming a hard-wired mercenary.)

Why is POST FALL capitalized?

I researched images of city limit street signs and was drawn toward one in particular that displayed its city in all capital letters (MEMPHIS), and felt POST FALL was more pronounced than Post Fall.

maria

(Maria – Pachuco’s pride and joy.  Maria’s not sentient, but she is sentimental.)

Why are you set on making POST FALL into movies over other forms of media?

Motion pictures are my preference.  While my spec scripts could be converted into comic books, graphic novels, or narrative books (I’m not against making it into any of those!), my primary goal has always been to make movies.

mr-lansing

(Mr. Lansing – The leader of the rural region surrounding Spokane, Washington.  He is old, but well protected by his pack of wolf-men and their allies.)

What influenced POST FALL?

I’ve already mentioned Blade Runner and Narnia, but my roleplaying days of TSR’s Gamma World and R. Talsorian’s Cyberpunk 2020 have fond influences too.  It’s safe to say my favorite movie, The Road Warrior (a.k.a. Mad Max 2), and my most memorable movie going experience as an eight-year old surrounded by cheering and clapping strangers as we watched the original release of Star Wars together also fermented my love of motion pictures and shaped what I wanted POST FALL to become.

sperit

(Sperit – Mr. Lansing’s right-hand wolf-man, and the most physically powerful within the pack.)

When does the orchestra pit scene take place in the POST FALL trilogy?

I would describe it as the beginning of Act III in POST FALL III.  So, while it’s near the end of the original trilogy (and obviously the end for certain characters), it’s not the finale.

bison

(Bison – Nothing more than a slave to Mr. Lansing, corralled in the orchestra pit for his amusement.)

You mentioned a trilogy, but you said there were six stories?

I wrote the first three stories as a traditionally trilogy.  Then I decided I had more to say, so I wrote three prequels, essentially one origin story for each of the three primary characters.
improved-counting-coup-concept-with-armband

(Counting Coup – A recent ally of Pachuco, now connected by a life debt.)

Is the orchestra pit scene your favorite scene?

I like it very much, but it’s not my favorite.  When I imagined making a video to use in marketing POST FALL, this particular scene worked well without the need for additional sound effects or dialogue.

kane

(Kane – The leader of a band of guerrillas.)

Can I help?

YES!  If you have ideas on who or how to reach the motion picture industry, or could otherwise help in the creation of comic books, graphic novels, etc., please Contact me.
